Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

As an entry level CNC Machine Operator, you will operate assigned machines that have been set up and programmed by other associates. In this role, you may specialize in one specific machine or may be trained to assist with the operation of various machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate modern computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as notching saws, horizontal drill machines, punches, mills, lathes, HAAS, Elumatec, etc.Download pre-established programs, load extrusions or parts into the machine (depending on assigned work centers), and cycle the machine.Verify dimensions and quantities according to supplied paperwork.Work to meet and/or beat production quantity standards.Inspect extrusions/parts for quality and check for malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.Perform daily setup and preventative maintenance checks and related activities.Accurately and consistently verify quality control of outputAs experience is gained, you may complete basic edits to machine programs/setups.Maintain a clean and safe environmentOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

This role is for internal candidates (Solar Innovations Associates) onlyExperience as a Machine Operator; trade school experience will be accepted in lieu of work experienceCandidates must be able to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometerMust be able to complete basic numerical calculations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience reading machine drawingsPrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience as a CNC Machine Operator, preferably in a machine shop or job shop environment
