Job Functions

Ensure all electrical power needs for operations and the facility are in working orderRepair, install and troubleshoot CNC and other numerically controlled industrial machinesAble to evaluate, prepare and execute personal preventative and predictive maintenance schedulesTroubleshooting/repairing/installing of wood processing equipment with a working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servos, electrical schematics, etc. to allow efficient repair/replacementPlan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & directionIdentify and report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirementsBecome an active participant & contributor to the continuous improvement process at KnollMust be able to handle a very fast-paced working environmentFollow shop floor controls Ability to read and follow work instructionPerform required quality inspectionsAbility to work in a team environmentAble to take the initiative to solve problems, where appropriateMust be willing to cross-train in various areas of the department as requiredFollow all Knoll safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and safe working environmentParticipate and maintain 5S TPM and LOTO in the workplaceMaintain and follow the ISO standard operating proceduresAbility to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekendsParticipate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process

Education Requirement

Licensed Industrial Electrician (Red Seal #442A), certified to work in Ontario High School diploma or equivalentMust be able to communicate in English (both oral and written)

Experience requirement

Minimum 3-5 years of related experienceStrong knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics and hydraulics, and hands on experience with high speed machines requiredBe able to resolve electrical problems logically, demonstrate machine flowExperience in a manufacturing plant environmentWorking knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo preferred) Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical dataIntermediate to advanced PLC, VFD, CNC and servo systems knowledgeKnowledge of LOTO protocol
