Machine Shop and Maintenance Supervisor - Archdale, NC
Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Machine Shop & Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee our machine shop and maintenance operations. As part of supervision responsibilities for the maintenance operation, you will be responsible for managing maintenance technicians along with a variety of jobs involving troubleshooting, repairing electro/pneumatic/mechanical machinery, facilities maintenance functions as well as preventive maintenance. In addition to the maintenance operations, you will be responsible for managing a team of operators and machinists in the machine shop, while also ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a safe work environment. Utilize your expertise in machining processes, equipment, and leadership to drive operational success and contribute to the growth of our organization.

A Day In The Life Lead and supervise a team of machine shop operators, machinist and maintenance technicians, while also fostering a safe and productive work environment. Collaborate with production planning to optimize resource utilization and meet delivery targets. Manage production schedules, monitor workflow, and adjust as needed to maximize efficiency. Ensure adherence to quality standards by reviewing work orders and conducting regular inspections. Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime. Implement and enforce safety regulations, conduct training, and promote a culture of safety. Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to enhance team performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality awareness. What will help you thrive in this role? 10-15 years manufacturing and facility maintenance experience. Technical or vocational training in machining, required Associate bachelor’s or graduate degree in comparable field, preferred. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role. High level of troubleshooting skills required. Knowledge of industrial electric up to 600 volts. Ability to read & understand schematics. Knowledge of DC and AC Drives. Automation & PLC experience necessary. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and related low voltage controls. Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and machinery installation. Must possess excellent mechanical skills. Must be available to work overtime as needed and to be on-call as directed. Must possess knowledge of and efficiently utilize MS Office and other facility related software. Must be able to work independently as well as with others. Must be able to give clear instructions. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to communicate and direct the work of outside vendors. Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, welding, CMM, machine shop operations, including CNC machining, milling, and turning. Strong knowledge of machinery, tools, and equipment. SAP experience, preferred  Lean manufacturing experience, preferred Familiarity with quality control methodologies and tools.
