NATURE AND SCOPE:
To lead and perform the repair, maintenance and alignment of precision industrial machine tools (i.e.
Computer Numerical Controls (CNC), semi and automatic machines, robotic, machine centers, etc).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety programs, OSHA regulations,
manufacturer recommendations, and industry standard guidelines.
2. Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair precision industrial machine tool malfunctions.
3. Determine the sequence of operations, procedures, and methods necessary to perform skilled
maintenance functions such as repairs, preventive maintenance (PM), and modification of
precision industrial machine tools.
4. Lead and plan the electrical and mechanical disassemble, reassemble, repair, and replacement for
machine components (i.e. bearings, shafts, gears, spindles, controls, drives, etc). Record and
document all changes to precision industrial machine tools.
5. Lead projects to perform functional and diagnostic tests to determine root cause of malfunctions
and recommend repairs to established manufacturer’s tolerances.
6. Lead projects to perform repairs, maintenance and alignment checks in all machine axis planes.
7. Determine required replacement parts using machine tool drawings and operator manuals.
8. Follow manufacturer specifications, prints and manuals to determine machine tool requirements.
9. Utilize mainsaver or equivalent maintenance software for tracking work orders and PMs.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with company housekeeping procedures.
11. Proper use of hand-tools, power tools, electrical, and electronic test equipment.
KNOWLEDGE:
This position is for the well-experienced and qualified technician with >7 years of precision industrial
machine tool experience, requiring minimal supervision, and capable of leading assigned projects.
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Industrial Technology Certification (strongly preferred).
Knowledge of machine tool controllers, software ladder logic coding and diagnostic test equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software applications.
Leadership experience with good verbal and written communication.
