Machining Technician V

If you are an experienced Machinist looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an opportunity for you! Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines from prints and CAD models to create one off prototype and low volume parts and tooling to tight tolerances. Proficiency in Mastercam is preferred, working application of GD&T and fixture creation highly desired. If you have a background in toolmaking and CNC machining, we would love to hear from you!

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Demonstrate use of MasterCam to generate CAD models and CNC programs. Perform complex CNC machine set-ups. Create bending dies and fixtures for bending prototype tubes. Create dies and fixtures for forming small to medium sized parts. Create 3, 3+2 and 5 axis programs from a drawing or CAD model. Build sophisticated fixtures at tight tolerances for machining prototype parts. Operate manual and CNC mills and lathes, surface grinder, and other machinery as required. Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Demonstrate good interaction and communication skills while working with all Manufacturing and Engineering employees. Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need: Associate degree in a technical machining program or machining apprenticeship. Ten or more years CNC programming, setup, and operation experience in a toolmaking environment. Experience with 5 axis programming. Able to create CAD models and create CNC programs. Must be proficient in metrology equipment to validate parts. Familiar with CMM usage both fixed and portable. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Skilled in the set up and operation of Haas CNC machinery. Skilled at interpreting drawings and GD&T specifications. Must be able to communicate fluently in English and be understood. Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred. Experience working with 300 series stainless and stainless exotics (Nitronics/XM19, Duplex, RA330) and various tool steels, aluminum and plastics. Ability to manually edit CNC code as needed. Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $82,330-94,091 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
