Woodward is seeking a Machinist to join our team in Niles, IL. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a limited range of machine types in an industrial environment. This position operates under close supervision, with minimal troubleshooting, decision-making, or problem-solving involvement. Interaction with external suppliers or customers is limited.
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce. The ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident (i.e., 'Green Card holder'), or a protected person (e.g., asylee, or refugee).

Machinist I High School Diploma required 0–2 years of related work experience or applicable degree General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality Knowledge of CNC programming/machining, including ability to read, understand, and edit basic programs Basic knowledge of grinding, turning, milling, or drilling Associate Machinist High School Diploma or equivalent required No related work experience required General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality Essential Functions: Assist with the setup and operation of one or more of the following machines: CNC Lathe Machines CNC Mill/Turn Machines CNC OD/ID Grinders Complete all required documentation in compliance with record retention policies Identify and document nonconforming materials in accordance with procedures; support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation Follow work instructions, setup sheets, and method documents to operate machines and perform part inspections accurately Use various gauging tools and equipment to verify that parts meet engineering specifications and quality standards throughout the production process Obtain and maintain necessary certifications for applicable processes
