**Purpose/Introduction**
There is an immediate opening to fill the position of Millwright/Machinist at the Sweeny/Old Ocean facilities. This position is in the Maintenance department and will be responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs on mechanical process equipment such as pumps, turbines, fin fans, cooling tower fans, gearboxes and injection pumps, valves and valve actuators; Inspecting and repairing rotating equipment to OEM specifications; Performing turnaround mechanical maintenance activities and projects. Experience with repair turbo equipment and compressor floors is preferred.
**Responsibilities**
+ Obtain work permits, adhere to safe working practices, and follow working procedures.
+ Overhaul and repair rotating equipment such as: turbines, pumps, and compressors.
+ Complete computer-based training, fill out electronic work permits, and complete various other electronic forms online as needed.
+ Read and understand mechanical drawings and preferably P&ID as well.
+ Work extended hours as needed during T/A activities.
+ Work with vendors to complete compressor floor overhauls as needed.
+ Work with varying personalities day in and day out while always maintaining professional behavior.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Minimum of a high school diploma/ GED with at least 3 years of compressor and turbine repair and mechanical experience in an industrial setting
+ Must have a strong commitment to safety
+ Proficient use of precision machinist tools
+ Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
+ Experience with the repair of a wide range of centrifugal compressors, pumps, steam turbines, gearboxes, fans, and process valves
+ Ability to read mechanical drawings and product manuals to repair equipment
+ Ability to complete assigned work in a safe and timely manner
+ Must be able to operate a forklift, drott, JLG, or other motorized equipment to perform assigned work
