Job Description

Join the Agilent team at our Wilmington, DE facility as a Machinist!

Key Responsibilities:

Use machine tools to make or modify parts that conform to specifications and/or tolerances.

Determine material, parts, and equipment required.

Perform production, prototyping, and/or new product introduction tasks, including cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, conventional and CNC milling, turning, grinding, wire EDM, and fixture design.

Conduct in-process inspection of machined parts against specified tolerances.

Perform manufacturing rework for vendor/process-induced defects to minimize scrap.

Conduct inspections throughout the machining process to identify and correct any dimensional or quality issues.

Communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of part assemblies.

Qualifications

Higher education or specialized training/certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience

3+ years of relevant experience for entry to this level

Ability to set up, operate, and maintain a variety of complex CNC machining centers, lathes, mills, and grinders

Interpret blueprints, process sheets, sketches, CAD/CAM files, and engineering specifications to determine assignment plan, layout, sequence of operations, and necessary tool adjustments for operating and programming various types of manual and computerized machine shop equipment

Select appropriate tooling, material, equipment, cutting speeds, and feeds to optimize production efficiency and quality

Perform precision machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding, to meet exact specifications

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols

Participate in troubleshooting and resolving machine malfunctions

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency

Maintain accurate production and quality control documentation

Ability to work independently
