Your Role

Join Atlas Copco as a Machinist where you will help assemble custom compressors at our manufacturing facility in on-site in Voorheesville, NY. You will perform modification of bearings, installing instrumentation, relocating orientation pins and have general knowledge of manual machines and completes machining of various compressor components. As part of the Machine Shop, you will provide additional support functions such as Hydro test, balance and assembly. This role reports to the Production Supervisor.

You will follow manufacturing route sheetsYou will complete bearing modifications per drawingsYou will work with engineering to resolve drawing vs. vendor design inconsistencies to ensure instrumentation in installed such that bearing remains fully serviceableYou will make own set-upsYou will machine parts to drawing dimension or perform functions in accordance with route sheetsYou will perform most shop math calculationsYou will use a variety of measuring instrumentsYou will verify completion and accuracy of machined partsYou will support additional shop processes as needed.You will comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements

 
To succeed, you will need  

You are at least a high school graduateYou have 3 or more years of experience in machine operations; additional relevant educations may be substitutied for work experience You have good mechanical aptitude and can understand shop drawings
