**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
The CNC Machinist will operate a vertical milling machine and have experience with Mastercam for programming and editing CNC operations. This role involves producing high-quality parts and components by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety. The machinist will need to understand and edit Mastercam programs but will not need to create them from scratch. The role may also involve light maintenance and upkeep of the machines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate vertical milling machines to produce high-quality parts and components.
+ Program, set up, and operate CNC machines while maintaining high accuracy and safety standards.
+ Edit and understand Mastercam programs for CNC operations.
+ Perform tooling changes and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed.
+ Conduct light maintenance and upkeep of CNC machines.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in operating vertical milling machines.
+ Experience in editing and understanding Mastercam programs.
+ Ability to perform tooling changes and mechanical troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with maintenance and upkeep of CNC machines.
+ Ability to perform set up and tear down of equipment.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a heavy manufacturing setting with a flexible 2nd shift schedule, either from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. Employees have the flexibility to choose the start time. The facility emphasizes safety and precision in all operations.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
