Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **2nd Shift - Full Time** **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Follow all applicable policies and procedures and ensure safety rules are observe + Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, metatarsal safety shoes, etc.) as required + Required to work overtime schedule as requested to meet production needs based on established overtime procedures + Operate machinist tools including CNC machines + Use precision measuring devices to effectively machine parts + Deburr parts + Participate in problem solving, continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback in areas of people, Quality, Velocity and Cost + Use blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications + Use andon for identification of variance from standard work + Be available to assist in other areas as needed + Participate in activities and exercises in support of the Caterpillar Production System (CPS) – 5S, RIWs, etc. **Required Qualifications:** + Trade School Certificate, Associates Degree in Machine Technology or High School Diploma/GED equivalent and minimum 2 years experience in setting up and operating CNC machines + Knowledge of how to set and use gauges such as calipers, bore micrometers, dial indicators, etc. + Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written + Ability to read and interpret blueprints for datum lines and tolerances + Ability to interpret GD&T + Understand and use of measuring devices + Use of advance shop math + Ability to work overtime **Desired Qualifications:** + Previous machinist experience **Additional Information:** + **2nd shift (3:00 pm to 11:30 pm)** + Full-Time position with benefits + Starting pay is $19.81 hr - plus an additional $1.00 hr shift premium for 2nd shift + Ability to work overtime as needed + Relocation assistance is not offered for this position **Please ensure you frequently check the e-mail account you provided on your application, including the junk/spam folder, as this is the primary correspondence method in our recruiting process.** Caterpillar is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.
