Responsibilities You will set up and operate all types of conventional machines, numerically-controller (NC) Machines and related equipment in the manufacture, rework, and repair of aircraft parts and components and equipment. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: 1) planning the work and manufacturing of parts and items of equipment from raw stock of various metals, metal alloys, and other materials using specialized and nonstandard machine tools; 2) operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, and auxiliary machine tool attachments; 3) performing complex set-ups, layouts, gauging, precise alignments and measurements of work pieces on machines and layout tables using layout and precision measurement tools; 4) interpreting work orders, blueprints, and drawings. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
