You will be located onsite in Cleveland, Ohio. As our Machinist – you will report to the Production Supervisor. On a given day, you may: Cut away material from a solid block of metal, plastic, glass, or other materials to form a finished part. Apply knowledge of the working properties of materials with CNC programming and knowledge to design and accomplish the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications. Determine dimensions and configurations of cuts, selection of cutting tools and machine speed and feed rates and according to machine shop processes, part specifications and machine capabilities. Perform set ups Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths. Read micrometers and calipers Set up tooling and operation of machine Read programs to determine G&M codes Compare analyze set-up sheet with existing program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions. Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove programmed instructions. Maintain good housekeeping of working area. Requirements for the role Have knowledge of computers and electronics, computer numerical control, and basics of programming and computer aided manufacturing. Complete quality paperwork. High school diploma, or equivalent required. Applicable trade school preferred. 2 or more years of experience as machinist or machine operator. . The physical strength and ability to handle tooling and to safely set up large work pieces. Oversee tools of the trade, and the ability to use them. Meet production requirements as specified.
