Aerotek is seeking a dedicated Machinist to join our Automotive Parts Manufacturer in Gananoque! You will be working in the tooling department and will play a crucial role in producing various auto parts for major automakers.

The ideal candidate will set up and operate equipment, conduct visual and measurement checks, and contribute to the upkeep and tidiness of the workspace. You will be working with mills, lathes, drills, and CNC machines to create parts, handling both small batch runs and long-term production.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate mills, lathes, drills, and CNC machines to create parts.Conduct visual and measurement checks during production runs.Switch between small batch and long-term production runs as required.Maintain documentation and ensure the tidiness of the work area during downtime.Essential Skills6 months of experience working as a machinist or apprentice machinist with drills, grinders, lathes, and mills.Ability to read engineering drawings and set up machines accordingly.Proficient in basic math for in-process measuring and checking.High school diploma required.Diploma in a technical program preferred but not required.Ontario college of trade certification preferred but not required.Closer to 1 year of work experience with a solid reference if lacking post-high school education.Reliable transportation as this job is full-time on site in Gananoque. You will be working in a machine shop attached to a production floor with six CNC machines. Operating in two shifts (two weeks on days, two weeks on afternoons). Salary up to $65,000 yearly based on relevant experience. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, and all PPE is provided by the employer. While some machines can be loud, noise cancellation is not required.
