Role Summary:
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
This is a 1st shift position Monday - Friday 7AM-3PM
Responsibilities:Operate basic equipment and machines and carry out routine tasks.
Perform operational tasks by following established processes.
Assist in maintaining and repairing equipment by carrying out preparations and providing support.
Follow mandatory work instructions to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
Ensure work meets required quality standards and adheres to external regulatory codes and internal policies.
Utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.
Exchange information and interact courteously with colleagues.
Work with guidance to understand and apply company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience: 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills.
Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain machining equipment.
Precision Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency in using precision measuring tools.
Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
Compliance: Adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.
Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives .
Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.
HS Diploma / GED
The pay range for this position is 29.81 - 44.72 USD Hourly
