Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement. **Position Purpose:** The Maintenance Machinist, under the supervision of the Machinery Supervisor, troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and maintains relevant mechanical components of process and non-process plant and field equipment such as centrifugal pumps, valve actuators, conveyor systems and other processing equipment. Must be proficient in repairing conveyor systems, coupling alignment, rebuilding pumps, machining, rigging, welding, cutting, and fabrication of parts or components needed to maintain or repair equipment. **Primary Duties/Responsibilities:** + Required to follow all applicable safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in performance of assigned duties. Is required to participate in all required safety training activities. Is expected to report any unsafe conditions encountered in performance of duties. + Dismantle, move, relocate, reassemble, install, and level process and non-process equipment. + Perform proper rigging and hitching of process and non- process equipment, use of overhead cranes and other lifting devices + Disassemble and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul equipment. + Machine and fabricate parts from blueprints or sample pieces as needed for process equipment, non-process equipment, or for other trades. + Setup and operate machinery necessary to machine parts needed for equipment repair including, Milling machines, Lathes, Drill Presses, Surface and O.D. Grinders, Keyseaters, Treading machines, Cutoff and Band saws, Arbor and Hydraulic Presses + Performs routine preventive maintenance on plant or field equipment including flagging of equipment if unusual or abnormal condition is observed. + Investigate and troubleshoot operating problems with all equipment, determine and correct problem or identify needed trade. + If in field, troubleshoot and perform routine PM and CM on lift stations, hydraulic power units and their ancillary components, hydraulic and electric gates and all Deep Tunnel related equipment. + Follow established procedures for maintaining records of repairs, maintenance, and related work activities. + Performs other duties of a similar level and nature as assigned. **Work Environment:** + Work is performed in machine shop environment or in an industrial setting, involving exposure to dirt, dust, various temperatures, humidity, heights, underground, confined entry and odors. **Qualifications** **Education/Experience/Background:** + High School Diploma/GED is required. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** + Computer Skills up to and including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer. **Required Certification/Licenses/Training:** + Requires a learned working knowledge in Industrial Maintenance - Machinist; normally gained through 3 years of machine job shop experience coupled with 6 years of industrial maintenance repair experience, completion of a formal Machinist Apprenticeship or a Millwright 4 year Apprenticeship may be substituted for part of the above requirements provided the equivalent combinations of training, maintenance, equipment repair and machine shop experience is included, or Suitable military experience that provides the equivalent of the above such as a completion of formal technical program with 3 years or more of practical practice after the technical program and a honorable discharge. + Valid state driver's license is required. **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to wear breathing apparatus for confined entry. **Additional Information** We are an Equal Opportunity Employer!
