**Overview** Stryten Energy, a new company name with a long history in Lancaster County, operates a growing plastic injection molding facility in West Lampeter Township. We produce plastic components for car batteries and have a stable and growing customer base. As an essential business we continue to thrive during this economic downturn, and we are expanding our teams. Mold Mechanic II performs mold repair by utilizing machining practices in a timely and effective manner in an effort to support the molding department’s production objectives. Other activities include but are not limited to; mold improvements, mold modifications and mold maintenance. **This is a 1st shift opening (Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm)** **Responsibilities** * Responsible for making and repairing tools, molds, fixtures, gauges, etc., and correcting tool problems in production. Sets up, adjusts and operates conventional and/or special purpose machine tools to perform diversified operations. * Respond to problem tag system and carry out repairs. * Ensure work is performed in a neat and professional manner. * Work on special projects as assigned. * Complete work requests / work orders with a clear description of work done. * Assist with Root Cause Analysis and repetitive failures as they relate to injection molds. * Assist with engineering projects / modification work. * Willingness to work as a team. * Able to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision. * Ability to effectively manage time and meet specified deadlines. * Good communication with process engineering to work on improving molding thru tooling improvements and processing; diagnose/trouble shoot and help/implement corrections to tooling problems with other facilities * Offshift work on a as needed basis. * Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed/required basis in order to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts. * Work within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations. * Attend all required trainings and meetings. * Follow all company safety policies and procedures including the use of PPE and safety equipment. * Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and other lean manufacturing initiatives. * Continuously improve the general housekeeping, organization of equipment, tools, and supplies to keep workstations as efficient as possible. * Maintain an organized and efficient work area. * Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the business. **Qualifications** **Required:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Basic math and trigonometry * Physical requirements as defined in associated job analysis. **Preferred** * Apprenticeship Training certificate (preferred but not required). * Assosicates in CIM or related field * Machinist experience as it relates to injection molds. Competencies, Skills, Knowledge * Understanding of mold construction and mold maintenance principles. * NC milling machines and NC lathes * Surface Grinding * Must be able to work within 0.005” machining tolerance. * Blue print reading * Proficient in CAD Modeling Software. ex. Autodesk Inventor. * Proficient in CAM Software and the ability to use conversational CNC controls. * Skilled in reverse engineering and manufacturing die components within set timeframes * Welding (TIG) * Basic mechanical layout (dimension and sketch tooling, jigs, fixture, ect.) * Basic Computer Skills * Must have, at minimum, a basic Machinist's tool set, including calipers and micrometers, etc. * Must be able to troubleshoot and repair molds as needed. * Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained.
