Job Description:

We are seeking a Mid-level precision Machinist to join our Machine Shop in Redmond, Washington. Under direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, Lead or designee, the Machinist will perform set-ups and machining of close tolerance aerospace hardware on numerically controlled and conventional machine tools.

This is a DAY SHIFT POSITION and typically works Mondays - Thursdays from 5:00AM – 3:30PM, but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.

In our Redmond, WA, site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems.  Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires

Essential Functions:

Read and understand GD&T, engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and conventional tolerancing.Read and following production planning.Run jobs close to tolerances of +/- .0001".Maintain a rejection rate of less than 2%.Use precision measuring instruments to check work.Setting up and running the following: numerically controlled and conventional machine tools (includes programming).Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of close tolerance machining experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior close tolerance machining experience.

Preferred Additional Skills: Knowledge of

Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred.Understand and be able to use trigonometryHard/exotic metalsUnconventional machiningMachine maintenanceMicrosoft suiteWillingness and ability to work overtime as necessary

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $24.52/hr - $45.43/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
