Job Description:
We are seeking a top-level precision Maintenance Machinist to join our Machine Shop in Redmond, Washington. Under direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, Lead or designee, the Machinist will perform maintenance of CNC and conventional machines as well as set-ups and machining of close tolerance aerospace hardware on numerically controlled and conventional machine tools
This is a DAY SHIFT POSITION and typically works Mondays - Thursdays from 5:00AM – 3:30PM, but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.
In our Redmond, WA, site (Seattle area), we fabricate, assemble, and test chemical and electric thrusters, as well as small scale propulsion systems. Our electric propulsion systems enable a wide variety of missions from the exploration of our solar system to global communication and the surveillance of severe weather and wild fires
Essential Functions:
Repair and maintenance of all machine tools in machine shopRead and understand GD&T, engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and conventional tolerancing.Read and follow production planning.Run jobs close to tolerances of +/- .0001".Maintain a rejection rate of less than 2%.Use precision measuring instruments to check work.Set up and run the following: numerically controlled and conventional Lathes, mills and support equipment (includes programming).Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of close tolerance machining experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior close tolerance machining experience.Preferred Additional Skills: Knowledge of
Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred.Understand and be able to use trigonometry.Machine maintenance/millwrightHard/exotic metalsUnconventional machiningMicrosoft suiteWillingness and ability to work overtime as necessaryIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $29.33/hr - $54.33/hr.
