What you’ll do:
Ensure compliance to all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices to include wearing the appropriate safety garments, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and exercising the required safety behaviors for the task at hand. Fabricate replacement and new parts, and erect, install and maintain facility machinery. Troubleshoot, perform preventative and predictive maintenance and/or repair facility machinery Capability of understanding metric and US standard measuring systems. Capability to use and understand the proper use of calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring devices. Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to machine parts and/or rework finished products. Work with other machinists, fabricators, and design personnel to assist in the assembly of multi-component parts. Operate forklifts, hoists, slings, and other material handling devices. Operate hand power tools, grinders, and other hand tools related to the job needs. Inspect and correct machining as necessary to meet product specifications. Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, Engineering drawings, and/or work orders. Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position. Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment if any equipment needs repairs notify supervisor/lead or maintenance department. Assists other employees, leads, management, vendors, or contractors to trouble shoot and diagnose equipment in urgent need of repair.
What you have:
High School diploma or GED required. Up to two years machining experience or related field. Technical Certificate preferred. Micrometer and caliper measurement and print reading skills a must. CNC programming and operating experience required. Solidworks, AutoCad, and Inventor knowledge.What you’re good at:
Familiar with a variety of machining concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to understand drawing symbols and diagrams, read prints, and/or other printed instructional material in the machining of products or parts. Must be thoroughly familiar with machining equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, shapers, hobs and other specialty machining equipment. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrate willingness and ability to work with others in a team environment. Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal.
What else?
Expect to travel to different work sites as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk and hear.) The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Lifting devices must be used or help must be requested for anything over 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
