Objective: Set-up, and operate at the highest level, with no supervision, mill and lathe machines. Inspect all features of aerospace and industrial system components, ensuring conformance to engineering requirements, specifications and special instruction.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Understand, set-up, and operate at the highest level, various CNC machines for production of aerospace and industrial components.
• Understand, maintain and execute Donaldson Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Inspect with no supervision, manufactured product for uniformity, conformance and record.
• Understand and maintain "first article" and "In-Process Inspection Reports".
• Initiate non-conforming material rejection reports.
• Perform basic machine maintenance as required.
• May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• May orient, train, and check the work of lower-level employees.
• May assist with interviews and provide direction to employees on attendance, productivity, quality, safety and housekeeping.
Qualifications:
• Education consisting of a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of four (4) or five (5) years of related experience in lieu of education.
• Ability to inspect own parts.
• Familiarity with Mastercam programming software.
• Ability to inspect the work of, and train other employees.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in a safe and prudent manner.
• Ability to design and manufacture fixtures and tooling for various CNC machines.
Technical Competencies:
• Ability to demonstrate intellectual skills through analytical reasoning, problem solving skills, development of technical skills, and innovative solutions.
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude in the use of all hand tools, and inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and understand all levels of blueprint features and machine shop routers.
• Ability to read, understand, and edit G and M code programming.
• Ability to operate multiple CNC machines at the highest level for daily production of aerospace and industrial system components.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Non-Technical Competencies:
• Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to communicate electronically or written, routine reports and correspondence.
• Exhibits interpersonal skills through teamwork and communications skills.
