Job Responsibilities 

Sets up machine and observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and caliper.  Sets up and control operation of computerized deburring and tooling machine to perform series of machining operations, such as drilling, chamfering, and deburring Inspects "first part", and inspects work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.  Responsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead times  Maintain work area to ensure a safe and clean work environment Inspection of work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining Responsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead times  Act as lead by coordinating the workload between CNC machines Colloborate with engineer/supervisor for process improvements  Lead actions with CNC machine efficiencies by updating, creating and altering programs Lead and drive machine risk analysis leading to capacity planning in the CNC area Lead training for new machinists

 

Qualifications 

Must have proficient English reading and writing skills and be able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions. High School Diploma/GED is required. Proven experience and proficiency in CNC    Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific CNC mills and lathes to be operated with the ability to calculate and set machine controls either manually or by entering commands  Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently  Ability to keep record of parts made  Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, read drawings and blueprints, and be familiar with common machine and measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers Ability to work independently with limited supervision May provide formal guidance and support to more junior team members Ability to effectively communicate with team members and others regularly. Ability to complete a variety of atypical assignments as needed and help determine appropriate approach for new assignments  Delivers quality work consistently and contributes to larger team. Recognize and solves problems that may be atypical based on experience.
