Location/Division Specific Information: Our Hillsboro site produces elite electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest microscopes operated by scientists like Nobel prize winners and researchers who imaged the COVID-19 virus. The machine shop Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician (Machinist) is responsible for operating specialized machining equipment to produce parts according to the established parameters and specifications. Your expertise in manual machine operation will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and safety of our manufacturing processes. This position collaborates with the entire site but reports directly to the Director of Operations.

What will you do?

Manually operate industrial machinery which includes Lathes, Bridgeport and Kent mills, grinders, and precision tolerancing equipment to cut, sand, knurl, drill, face, and turn in a metal work environmentSupport machining requirements for entire business by applying a combination of machining experience, creativity and attention to detailTranslate requirements from drawings into measurements for production while inspecting parts to ensure that technical and quality standards are met.Connect with leadership regularly to discuss technical barriers to execution.

How will you get here?

EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredA 2-year Trades degree preferred with 2+ years of experience as a manual operator Machinist OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills.
