POSITION SUMMARY:
The candidate must be able to use both manual and CNC machinery. The candidate will operate machines, such as CNC mills & lathes, manual lathes, mills and grinders to produce precision parts. Must be able to interpret prints, manufacture to desired tolerances, and inspect parts to satisfy all aspects required. Must also be responsible for the quality of his/her workmanship and have a thorough understanding of required tooling and processes to perform the duties of this position. Machinist must communicate with co-workers regarding machine availability and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Must be self-motivated and be able to work alongside other personnel, inside and outside department as required to perform job function.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned tool room operations.Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor or engineer.Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, sawing and troubleshooting.Performs inspection of machined parts.Completes part and insures it meets all dimensions per print assigned.Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication of parts including fitting parts to machine to ensure function.Performs other related duties as needed and assignedThe position requires frequent lifting of raw material and tooling fixtures as needed to manufacture or repair parts.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
