What you will be doing as a Machinist:
In this role, you can expect to set up and process components on Manual and CNC machines, ensuring the safe and proper use of equipment and precision tools. You’ll collaborate closely with experts and peers across the Machine Shop, maintaining a professional and respectful environment. Your work will be crucial in performing efficient set-ups and repairs, ensuring compliance and safety in a clean, organized workspace.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Job Setup Assistance: Log into jobs, assist in the setup and running, identify programs matching paperwork, measure components, and double-check each step before running componentsTool Calibration: Inspect and ensure tools like micrometers and bore gauges are properly calibratedPaperwork Compliance: Verify and document maintenance paperwork, including serial and part numbers, correct operations, and repair information. Ensure compliance with maintenance documentation such as ICA (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness), rework travelers, and blank travelersTool Control: Perform daily tool control reviews, sign-offs, and organize tools/toolboxesWhat you need to be successful:
Education:A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is requiredA technical education is helpful0-12 months Machining Experience required in any of the following disciplines:ID/OD/Jig/Surface Grinding HoneCNC Mill, CNC LatheManual Mill, Manual Lathe0-12 months Programming experience required with any of the following:G-Code/M-CodeGibbs, Cad, SolidWorks, Feature CamHeidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens, Haas ControlsEquipment Proficiency is helpful with any of the following:Precision Measurement Tools, Hand Tools, Manual MillsOkuma, Haas, Matsuura, Centroid, Hermle, DMG, Fryer (Lathe and Mill)Kellenberger, Studer, Usach, DeVlieg, Moore Jig Grinder, Sunnen HoneAdditional skills that are helpful:Basic math and ability to read dimensional instructionsAdaptability to changeKnowledge of GDT, basic machine operation, and blueprint readingWhy join us?
