Magnet Program Manager
Job Description

As a Magnet Program Manager, you will cultivate a professional practice environment by coordinating the Magnet process, assisting with document preparation, maintaining related databases, and supporting professional development. You will identify nursing quality indicators, developmental needs, performance improvement, and research initiatives to sustain and advance the program. Serving as an ambassador of the program, you will employ various communication strategies. This position collaborates with leaders and staff using the ANCC Magnet framework of excellence to create and implement innovative staff engagement, systems, and processes. To include: 

Implement Change Management Strategies: Ensure successful execution of the Magnet program by coordinating and evaluating programs and activities, including special events, ongoing Magnet campaigns, and various communication strategies.Promote Professional Initiatives: Engage and mentor nurses in performance improvement, evidence-based practice, research, and advancing publications and presentations.Plan and Develop Initiatives: Ensure program goals are met by supporting the coordination of the Magnet application, document submission, site visits, re-designation processes, and interim reporting.Develop Communication Strategies: Implement strategies to ensure accurate information regarding program purpose, initiatives, improvement strategies, and outcomes is disseminated throughout the organization.Integrate Magnet Standards: Support successful outcomes by implementing shared decision-making through shared governance at the unit and hospital-wide levels.Mentor and Support Shared Governance: Foster shared governance at the unit, hospital-wide, and system levels.Manage Empirical Outcome Data: Collaborate with leaders to manage data for Magnet designation, including RN satisfaction, nurse-sensitive clinical indicators, patient experience, nursing turnover, and violence against nursing data.Collaborate with Stakeholders: Ensure the collection, correlation, analysis, and generation of detailed reports and integrated quality data for management and other key stakeholders.Manage Resources: Oversee human and fiscal resources to meet goals and achieve outcomes within the Magnet Recognition Program and the Clinical Practice and Professional Development Department.Recruit and Manage Staff: Manage recruitment, selection, orientation, performance reviews, and performance management of staff to support Magnet Recognition Program goals.Improve Nurse Satisfaction/Engagement: Serve as a role model in effective communication, active listening, and teamwork, supporting clinical nurses and managers with action plan development and implementation.Develop Educational Resources: Assist in creating informational and educational resources for management and front-line staff, providing education and implementing strategies to respond to new program requirements and opportunities for improvement.Promote Nursing Excellence: Enhance the image of nursing and recognition of nursing excellence.Foster Teamwork and Communication: Create an atmosphere that encourages teamwork and open communication among team members, modeling effective behaviors as a facilitator, coach, and group leader.Collaborate on Nursing Models: Work with department leadership to implement, improve, and evaluate the organization’s nursing professional practice model and nursing care delivery models.Lead Report Development: Lead the development of the nursing annual/bi-annual report in collaboration with other nursing and patient care service leaders.Stay Informed: Attend workshops and educational programs to stay aware of current developments and trends in the Magnet program, and submit abstracts to national conferences.Company Description

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Master’s in Nursing: Required.Registered Nurse Licensure: Required in the State of Maryland, or eligibility to practice due to Compact State agreements as outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing.Nursing Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in nursing and/or nursing leadership.Project/Program Management: Preferred two (2) years of experience in a Magnet health care setting.National Nursing Certification: Preferred in Nursing Administration, Leadership, Clinical Specialty, or Staff Development.Additional Information
