As our Mail and Parcel Sorting Officer, you’ll be working at the Townsville Delivery Centre where you’ll be responsible for manually sorting mail in preparation for delivery the next day. You’ll play a key role in supporting our Posties, who provide a vital service to our local community every single day.

You’ll be  

Working in a warehouse environment around mail sorting machinery and delivery vehiclesAssisting with the processing of standard letters, large letters, small and large parcels and Express Post articles Manually handling and sorting mail articles in cases where it cannot be machine sorted  Manually load and unload mail from mail bags, trays, containers and metal cages (Unit Loading Devices) Working across sophisticated processing equipment and lines Operating and using load shifting equipment such as hand pallet devices and stackers whilst cooperating with operations staff to get the mail into the facility

About you

You are flexible with working additional hours if requiredYou have experience doing physical work in a loud and fast-paced environmentYou are ok to work on your feet for your shift and in a warehouse environment doing manual handlingYou have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly Experience operating manual pallet jacks or stackers is advantageous but not mandatory

This shift attracts 15% shift penalties in addition to the base rate.
