What you will do
1. Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using PL/1, IMS, and DB2, JCL, Assembler, REXX and other mainframe technologies.
2. Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather and understand application requirements.
3. Perform analysis and debugging of existing mainframe applications to identify and resolve issues.
4. Write and maintain technical documentation for mainframe applications, ensuring comprehensive documentation of code changes and enhancements.
5. Optimize and improve the performance of mainframe applications.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe applications with other systems.
7. Provide support for mainframe systems, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
8. Implement and maintain security measures to protect mainframe applications and data.
9. Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to mainframe development and recommend updates or enhancements as needed.
10. Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and mentoring efforts to help junior developers grow their skills.
You will bring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer, with a strong background in PL/1, IMS, and DB2, JCL, Assembler, REXX.
• Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning of mainframe applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Mainframe certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
Experience - 8 to 12 years
Work Location - Bangalore/Noida/Gurgaon/Kolkata/Pune/Chennai
