Mainframe Developer
Position Description:

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a 'Mainframe Developer'.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) / client office (Markham) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.

Development experience in COBOL, CICS, MQFTE, Zena scripts, Zeke, DB2, SQL, JCL & VSAM.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Minimum 4 years recent experience writing Cobol, CICS, DB2 , VSAM and JCL on an IBM mainframe.
• Responsible for gathering and analyzing system requirements.
• Good understanding of applications on COBOL, JCL, CICS, IBM DB2, File Concepts, VSAM, REXX, Easytrieve, mainframe SAS.
• Should have good problem solving, debugging & troubleshooting Skills.
• Good Knowledge in Insurance industry.

Additional Comments:
• The expectation is to work along with Business Analyst and Senior System analyst and take technical decisions where appropriate, keeping the relevant stakeholders in loop.
• Willing to learn Supra Database.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

1. Minimum to 4 Years of experience in development and maintenance of mainframe based applications.
2. Experience on COBOL, JCL, CICS, File Aid, SDF2, SAS (mainframe), IBM DB2, File Concepts, VSAM, and REXX.
3. Experience in any mainframe configuration management tool.
4. Should have work experience in Insurance domain on any of the Personal/Commercial Lines of business
5. Good exposure to SDLC process and Quality activities.
6. Sound knowledge on Insurance concepts like Underwriting, Claims and Pricing.
