Mainframe Production Support Engineer (Changeman)
Overview

The colleague would be joining the Guardian Production Support Team as a Senior Systems Administrator on the Changeman Mainframe Code promotion team supporting all facets of IT Mainframe production releases. The colleague would support a small team of Code Release individuals and assist with on-call responsibilities to support enterprise mainframe application changes.

The colleague would interact daily with our production support and development teams relating to mainframe application scheduling, implementation requirements and execution. Good troubleshooting skills with ChangeMan product to be able to determine cause of any code promotion failures. Would work with Infrastructure teams as needed for OS and Middle-Ware upgrades to ensure compatibility with ChangeMan product. Good understanding of our MF monitoring tool BMC MainView(AIMEE OPS), and testing tools AbendAid, Expediter and Strobe is preferred.

You Will:Providing systems support for mainframe systems, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance. Knowledge of key types of Computer Languages is required: Assembly, COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, VTAM, JES2, MVS system programming.System installation: Installing, customizing, and maintaining the ChangeMan product system, as well as integration for other products that run on or related to the ChangeMan system. Knowledge of IBM JCL, Utilities, Development and Debugging Tools (Xpeditor and Abend-Aid Dump), IBM ISPF dialogue functions / management (required), REXX (required) and TSO CLIST (required) and IBM TSO/ISPF system set up. The IBM system security product - RACF - knowledge is preferred.Documentation: Developing and maintaining documentation related to system configurations and proceduresCollaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment. Requires night and weekend support for most code promotion activities.Backups and disaster recovery: Assisting with system backups and our annual disaster recovery processesReview daily ChangeMan package issues and address support questions from Development teams. Send reminders to avoid late package approvals to ensure the team can plan and support the upcoming workload.Checking all ChangeMan daily, weekly and monthly Batch (House Cleaning) jobs are functioning as expected. Support of any job failures.

You have:10+ years of technical experience in supporting Mainframe Code Promotion tools, specifically ChangeMan, is desirable with strong process knowledge of systems development lifecycles and project management.Experience designing effective change strategies and metrics to ensure continuous improvement.A comprehensive knowledge of Change Management tools, artifacts and process controls.Exhibit proficiency in working with a variety of change and code release governance frameworks and applying those concepts that best fit the organization’s change approach.Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to co-ordinate, develop, update, and maintain change and release management processes and controls across the organization.Good understanding of Audit and Controls standards and processes.

Location:Two days a week at Guardian Location in Bethlehem, PA, Holmdel, NJ or New York, New York

Salary Range$96,960.00 - $159,300.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
