JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing all electrical and mechanical problems in assigned areas.  The technician needs to have the flexibility to help in other areas of the plant when required.  May require extra hours or special hours to get production back in operation and this position must be flexible to work off shifts and overtime hours while working with minimal supervision.  This individual will work in and around moving equipment.  There will be some work with ladders and man-lifts.  This job requires mechanical aptitude, some heavy lifting, and follow up skills.  There may be probable clothing spoilage due to nature of work.  This individual must have satisfactory rigging skills for moving equipment and lines.  This position may include the scheduling of job orders.   This person should have the following abilities: train others, positive customer feedback, displays initiative to seek out and correct problem areas, mentor all levels of personnel, plan and coordinate work, assume responsibility, and have the ability to delegate.

                        

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS: Diagnose and repair all electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems Knowledge of compressed air and electrical distribution systems Conducts PM inspections and provides input for PM inspections and equipment Ability to consult on analysis of major repairs, rebuilds and modifications Supports implementation of CI, Quality, and TPM programs Contributes and supports CMMS system Must have good safety and quality awareness Displays ability to write simple and complex PLC Programs Working knowledge of all types of PLC’s Installation of conduit, pipes, plumbing and electrical lines Good machining skills knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products. Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products. Stand and walk on a continuous basis during the course of each shift. This job requires the use of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision. Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day.

*This position requires a pre work vision exam to obtain a PIV license!
