Job Description

The Maintenance and Capital Program Manager directs the Maintenance department and manages the site Capital program in order to meet production, quality and cost objectives, The position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. Through reliability centered maintenance, you will maintain requirements for equipment, materials, and manpower resources that are used to drive performance improvements. You will represent the site maintenance team on cross-functional leadership teams to drive site and business goals, and will be responsible for operational results across multiple teams/units within the facility.

In your role as Maintenance and Capital Program Manager, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:

Lead, develop, and challenge the maintenance staff to create process stability, innovation, technology advancement, and continuous improvement.Analyze and draw information for developing the long-term capital investment strategy of improving unplanned downtime on site assets.Development and management of machine reliability metrics.Apply rigorous observation and analytical tools to identify and execute expense and capital projects focused on safety, quality, operating cost, productivity, and fulfillment of customer expectations.Plan, coordinate, and supervise machine and/or building maintenance schedules and activities.Facilitate/collaborate with other functions to ensure project/maintenance objectives are aligned with division and plant objectives.Lead project planning, communication, and execution to achieve time, cost, and results targets.Manage/control cost center and capital project portfolio to achieve targeted results.Assess, select, and manage external contractors for project and service requirements.Manage and improve work order system, spare parts, tools, and supply inventory to minimize unplanned downtime and operating cost.Provide direct "hands on" assistance to maintenance technicians as needed.Provide training, coaching, performance planning, daily prioritization of work and feedback to develop direct reports and others.Develop and maintain the Mechanical Integrity Program in accordance with OSHA PSM guidelines.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required.8+ years experience in manufacturing operations position and experience leading non-exempt employees. Experience in a chemical or solvent-based manufacturing environment is a plus.Project management experience with the ability to lead multiple projects varying in scope and complexity (construction & facilities project management a plus).Strong ability to troubleshoot equipment/process issues.Implementing and assessing a Mechanical Integrity program in accordance with OSHA PSM guidelines.Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drives, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls) and facilities systems.Experience and understanding of Energy Management Systems, Emergency Response, Evacuation Processes, Process Safety Management, NEC, NFPA, and local fire safety codes.Leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead, coach and build relationships while effectively managing boundaries.

Organized and logical with ability to prioritize and sort complex problems moving to root cause and final resolution.Black Belt or Green Belt Certification desired.Strong organization and computer skills - MS Office, MS Project, MINITAB, AutoCAD, Rockwell RS software.
