Maintenance Associate
The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a Maintenance Associate . The position is supervised by the Assistant Manager of Facility in conjunction with the Manager of Facilities and the COO. The position is critical in maintaining routine and non-routine physical facilities and properties. We provide a safe, clean, warm refuge for the homeless, the hungry, the transient and the addicted. What it’s like to work at the Rescue Mission of Trenton: Rescue Mission of Trenton was founded in 1915 and is a non-profit organization that helps rescue people from themselves and their situations. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here. We value dignity, communication and helping each of our clients reach their full potential. Clients/residents are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, job placement, financial planning, education, counseling and mental health treatment. Our staff works diligently with the clients to get ID, an income and the things necessary to help them with transitioning to become self-sufficient. Qualifications For Position: High School diploma or Associates degree, required OREquivalent life experience required if educational qualifications not met OR Minimum 1-2 years experience in maintenanceCritical thinking, equipment maintenance and selection, visualization, facility, repairingAbility to TroubleshootAbility to lift over 50 pounds.Ability to use hand and power tools, forklift and jackBasic knowledge of usage of Microsoft Office (Word an Excel)A valid driver's license Position Details: • Assists in maintaining physical facilities as necessary to ensure client, staff and customer safety and adherence to all applicable building, fire, safety and sanitary codes • Performs highly diverse duties to install and maintain machines and the facility’s equipment• Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance, carpentry functions, painting, etc.• Uses a variety of hand/power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment • Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities• Performs basic machinist duties and responsibilities.• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair of machines or equipment• Assist with prepping and preparing for agency events. • Assists in supervision and training of residents in vocational work therapy program. + Regularly tours physical facilities to ensure they are safe and in working condition to allow for the provision of services
+ Completes daily safety checklist prior to leaving Rescue Mission
+ Immediately reports any deficiencies in safety or mechanical operation to supervisor
+ Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures

+ Performs other duties as assigned
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7a-3pHourly Rate: $19 plus an additional $1.00 per hour worked paid out quarterly. Plus a Comprehensive Benefit and Training Package
