Position Summary
The Maintenance classification performs daily maintenance of the plant including preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs daily, weekly, monthly maintenance tasks as per check listsFabricates various items primarily from steel and cuts, heats, drills and weldsRepairs plant equipmentPerforms plant electrical work with various voltages up to 440 volts 3 phaseReplaces electrical motors ranging from fractional horsepower motors up to 200 HP or moreRepairs plant piping with various diameters of pipePerforms boiler testsPerforms lubrication of plant equipmentClean shop as neededFollow all safety, GMP, plant rules and policiesAny other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsGood mechanical ability and aptitude. On-the-job training is provided
