DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchases, maintains inventory and attendant records of parts, tooling, consumables, and services for plant operations. Responsible to keep accurate records of standard tools, parts and equipment stocks and replenish as they reach reorder points. Maintains vendor relationships; establishes and maintains file of catalogs, samples, literature, and websites. Ships items for repair and/or transfer to other plants. Puts received items away in MRO.
Accountable for accuracy of inventory counts, orders placed, and equipment repair flow, including records of equipment sent to vendors, repair status, and receiving of repaired equipment. Assists with determining adequate standard inventory for daily operational demands. Maintains the low stock listing; stocks new parts and develops reorder points. Must ensure timely and ongoing communication with vendors to facilitate delivery orders.
Manage maintenance, repair, and operations with the aid of a computerized inventory systemPrepares requisitions through the computerized system based on reorder point, low stock items and requests from plant personnelAfter proper authorization, prepares purchase orders through computerized system and places the orders in a prompt and efficient mannerMaintains accurate and available low stock listing of critical spare parts by seeking input from Technicians and maintenance engineerStock new parts and develop reorder points for themEnter data into computerSource and order non-standard inventory parts, tools, and equipment; communicate directly with vendors via telephone, fax, or written correspondence to order parts or check status of orders, or to check status of plant equipment sent out for repairResearch and consumer shop for best value on parts, tools, and suppliesFind vendors for odd and difficult-to-find itemsLocate and distribute repair parts and tools from inventoryIssue Company standard tools to SupervisorsShip and receive plant equipment which has been repaired or requires repairInterface with parts and equipment sales representatives; review new product offerings, maintain catalog file, obtain samples and literature, and advise Maintenance Engineer of recent product developmentsIssue daily consumable items (e.g., glue pads, gloves, tape, C clams, etc.) to plant employees where applicableReport any safety violations or issues to the supervisor immediately for prompt resolutionHelp promote good housekeeping with assigned area through participation in assigned 5S zone(s)Perform other related duties and assignments as requiredMaintain supplies at workstationUse assigned timecard daily to accurately record time workedAttend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if requiredActively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on locationNotify department supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functionsPerform work in connection with special projects; communicate with principal (managers, supervisors) status of special projects assigned Qualifications High School Graduate/GEDOne-year general purchasing experiencePrefer experience with equipment and repair partsMust be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties requireMust be able to obtain knowledge of working equipment and repair parts identification termsMust possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendanceMust be quality and safety conscious, a team playerMust be able to work quickly with product and able to lift up to 50lbs on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and ability to team lift 87 to 100lbs, keep colors separate, and record weights accuratelyMust have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periodsMust have good communication skills and be able to interact with peopleExtensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walkingExtreme weather conditionsRequired personal protective equipment and some hand tools inclusive of but not limited to hacksaw and tape measureSafe work performance is required from each Technician at all timesAdditionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Technician’s performance appraisalTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorilyThe requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Additional informationSite Address: 303 W Major St. Kearney, MO 64060
