What Will Be Your Environment:
The Gastonia, NC location is about 30 miles west of downtown Charlotte, sitting close to the border of South Carolina. This site is currently experiencing some growth, though it currently has about 75 full-time employees. As part of the Advanced Materials division, this site produces a liquid acrylic polymer emulsion, which can be identified in end-use products such as latex or coatings applications.
What You'll Do:
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) reports directly to the sites manufacturing manager and is responsible for communicating, planning, and coordinating maintenance/capital activities. The OMC is the primary contact for coordinating activities between maintenance and operation schedules/planning. The OMC is responsible for ensuring work is executed safely and efficiently per site policies by facilitating and owning the planning process between operations, maintenance, and capital project managers.
What We're Looking For:
Uses SAP plant maintenance module transactions to document and manage production equipment issues: Creates SAP work notifications for identified equipment issues. Reviews existing SAP work notifications for problem description, functional location, priority and other details Approves SAP work notifications before passing them on to Maintenance Dept Planner / Scheduler Work closely with Production Dept Planner and Supervisor to understand production schedule and equipment availability and how each relates to prioritization and scheduling of maintenance work orders and capital project work. Obtain production schedules & equipment availability from Production Dept Planners & Productions Supervisors Communicate production schedules & equipment availability to Maintenance Dept Planner / Scheduler to support the creation of planned maintenance schedules. Communicate production schedules & equipment availability to Capital Project Manager to support the creation of capital project construction schedules. Work closely with Production Operators and Maintenance Dept Planner / Scheduler & Supervisor to define and manage the safety requirements for maintenance work: Quickly assess and communicate the basic LOTO, permitting and equipment recommissioning requirements when entering new SAP work notifications and reviewing existing SAP work notifications Thoroughly define, review and approve complex LOTO & permitting plans for complex maintenance jobs Thoroughly define, review and approve complex equipment recommissioning plans for complex maintenance jobs Perform (or delegate as needed) LOTO & permitting responsibilities for planned maintenance jobs and capital project work. Perform (or delegate as needed) equipment recommissioning responsibilities for planned maintenance jobs and capital project work. Periodically check safety requirement compliance for maintenance technicians and contractors performing work within the production area
Skills That Make a Difference:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with plant maintenance and/or chemical plant operations. Experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), with a strong preference for SAP CMMS Good communication ability across multiple level of the organization, including management, engineers, maintenance personnel, and plant operators. Self-starter, motivated, diligent, and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills. Able to manage several projects and task simultaneously. Hands-on experience with PSM Programs including Confined Space permitting, LOTO, Line Breaking etc. Familiarity with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and related PSM topics Familiarity with ISO 9001 and cosmetic ingredient GMP Ability to lift and carry up to 55 LBS Ability to operate materials handling machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, hand-trucks, etc.
