Primary Function:
Responsible for assisting and supporting the maintenance area manager in the coordinating, planning and scheduling of all maintenance services in the assigned area of responsibility. Coordinates with maintenance, engineering, external vendors and contractors, and production personnel to ensure that required tasks are completed within a specified time frame, in a safe, reliable, cost-effective manner. Also, will assist in the performance of maintenance tasks as required.
Tools and equipment:
Hand and power tools, mobile equipment, cranes, drawings, schematics, equipment manuals and computers.
Materials:
Plant equipment and supplies.
Source of supervision:
Maintenance area manager, department manager, or general manager.
Direction Exercised:
Directs activities of maintenance craftsmen and outside contractors as needed, under supervision of the area manager.
Working Procedure:
Uses PC and maintenance information systems to process work orders and locate information on parts and equipment as necessary.Assigns jobs to maintenance craftsmen and assists in performing jobs as required, under supervision of the area manager.Composes and maintains weekly manpower schedule.Ensures all shifts are staffed appropriately, under supervision of the area manager.Review and approve time entries weekly, under supervision of the area manager.Responsible for maintaining accurate records for vacations, overtime, absences, etc.Interfaces with production for scheduling of maintenance tasks.Ensures effective communications between production and maintenance employees.Obtains necessary tools, equipment and materials to accomplish work orders, with approval of the area manager.Interfaces with other maintenance groups, or outside contractors, for materials or services to accomplish tasks, with approval of the area manager.Completes all assignments and required paperwork in a timely manner.Works with storehouse and outside vendors to expedite parts or repairs.Supports all department key measures and goals.Trains others in operation or repair of equipment as required.Maintains a clean and orderly work area.Acquires knowledge, training and skills necessary to perform various positions. Demonstrates, through actions, a commitment to the philosophy of continuous improvement, problem solving and teamwork in all aspects of performance.Supports and assists all levels of management within the organization in achieving goals and objectives.Personally observes safety rules and regulations and motivates others to maintain a safe work environment. Responsible for coordinating safety and housekeeping of job-sites and shop areas.Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed by maintenance management.Relevant Work Experience:
• Must have a minimum of four (4) years administrative background preferably
in a manufacturing setting.
• Preferred experience working with SAP
• Strong computer skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and Excel, and
PowerPoint is required.
• Self-directed, strong organizational skills, and detail oriented is a must.
• Ability to have flexibility with changing priorities daily.
• Must have strong problem solving, teamwork, and excellent communication
skills.
