Maintenance Electrical Engineer I

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrical Engineer I to support the Woodside project in Perth. This role is ideal for professionals with at least five years of experience in maintenance engineering within the oil & gas or similar industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in maintenance strategy optimization, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing technical support to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Optimization

Assist in reviewing and improving maintenance strategies to align with regulatory and project-specific requirements. Support the development and management of CMMS (SAP/MAXIMO/JDE) maintenance master data to optimize performance.

Material & Spare Parts Management

Identify and catalog critical spares to maintain asset reliability. Conduct audits of project-specific materials and ensure proper documentation in CMMS systems.

Documentation & Compliance

Support the preparation and updating of maintenance work instructions (PRT/MWI) for equipment maintenance. Ensure compliance with Australian statutory requirements for Major Hazard Facilities and assist in inspection programs for equipment, piping, and vessels.

Technical Support & Continuous Improvement

Work alongside operations and maintenance teams to enhance safety, production efficiency, and cost control. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) assessments.

Engineering Support

Assist in reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and design modifications to enhance plant reliability. Support troubleshooting efforts and technical problem-solving initiatives.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (essential). Postgraduate studies in a related field (advantageous but not required).

Technical Skills & Experience

Minimum of five years of maintenance engineering experience, preferably in the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors. Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP/MAXIMO/JDE). Basic understanding of FMECA, RCA, RCM, and maintenance reliability principles. Knowledge of Australian and international electrical engineering standards. Python or R programming knowledge (advantageous but not required).
