Maintenance/Electrical Technician

POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Plant Electrical Technician. Our technicians apply methods, best practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, diagnostics and repair, of buildings, utilities, equipment and machinery. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Use of Electrical Test Equipment (VOM, Megger, Calibrators, etc.) + Use of NPFA70E guidelines for PPE and boundaries + High level of reading/interpreting Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation Drawings, Schematics, and Technical Manuals. + Installation, Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Repair Replace of: + Programmable logic control and/or Distributed Control System Hardware, Software and Control Programs + AC, DC & Servo Drive Systems + AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits + 600 Volt or lower Motor Control Centers and Power Distribution Systems + Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.) + Instrumentation and Control Devices (Pressure, Flow, Level Temperature, etc.) + High Speed Equipment Utilizing Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical Controls + Electrical control circuits, variable speed controllers, plant lighting, and load centers 600 volts and lower + Electrical component malfunctions on plant equipment and perform corrective maintenance on cranes, motors, conveyors, fans, etc. + Terminate electric motors 600 volts and lower + Install conduit and wiring for new installations and repairs to existing installations + Perform preventative maintenance on all plant electrical equipment + Complete required documentation of work to be done and work accomplished + Take readings using multi-meter, megger and oscilloscope + Reading, interpreting, and utilizing stores catalogs and equipment manuals for technical clarification and requisitioning parts and material + Operate computer to access Maintenance Management Program for equipment history and work order reviews, both corrective and preventive + Follow written and verbal work instructions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES + Electronic Technology and Industrial Electrical Maintenance with (2) years’ experience is preferred or equivalent schools or training. + Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Standards + Knowledge of Basic AC and DC Electronics. + Knowledge of production machines and equipment such as Fanuc or ABB robots, CNC mills, etc., and the mechanical ability to complete repairs. + Ability to work through troubleshooting methods where detailed schematics or drawing are not available. + Ability to diagnose problems, find solutions and implement all measures to prevent reoccurrence. + Knowledge and ability to perform other mechanical and plumbing repairs. + Proficient in the operation of maintenance equipment such as aerial and boom lifts and various shop equipment. + HVAC and Boiler operator licenses are a plus. + Working knowledge of Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, or distributed control systems (DCS) is a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTES + Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time + Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud + Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection + May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pound WHY CHOOSE Sonaca North America?
