Maintenance Electrician

Shift: Day shift

Location: 345 Grassy Meadows Rd Smoot, WV 24977

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Perform work in accordance with NFPA 70E and other applicable codes and guidelines. Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks as per the maintenance plan. Complete Preventive, Predictive, Work Order, and Project records in detail.  Installing conduit and wirings, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters and temporary wiring setups.  Maintaining/repairing plant instrumentation and developing wiring diagrams  Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter, etc.  Performing preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical devices.  Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Able to work with various PC programs and operating systems.  Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes expected.  Attention to detail and ability to work with precision. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to follow established policies and procedures. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.  Able to demonstrate practical problem-solving skills.  Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.  Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.  Positive and Verifiable Work History.  High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of relevant electrical experience in a similar work environment. Technical degree in an electrical field preferred. PLC knowledge preferred. Ability to work occasional daily and weekend overtime.

Push, pull, carry and lift 20 - 50lbs. Frequent walking and sitting. Regular stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and other such repetitive movements.  Must be able to communicate, hear, comprehend, and write in English.   Frequent exposure to dust. Exposure to noise environment requiring hearing protection. Must be able and willing to work in non-temperature-controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
