Primary Function:
Plan, layout, and perform all operations pertaining to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical equipment and circuitry. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electric motors, AC/DC drives, high voltage circuits, electrical control panels, etc. Work involves a knowledge of the electrical trade and an understanding of equipment operating principles to ensure proper function and safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain electric motors. Maintain all associated equipment for the electric motors, including drives. Install and repair electronic equipment including sensors, control panels, temperature controllers, PLCs, etc. Maintain and install electric services in CCM buildings including lighting, HVAC, etc. Install new equipment-mount fixtures, run conduit, pull wire, connect wiring, etc. Troubleshoot electrical breakdowns. Perform machine changeovers for all plant processes and products. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment. Complete required paperwork. Tend to the Boiler Room. Calibrate scales and equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Preferred Knowledge: Understanding of AC/DC current 100, 200, 480, and 2300-volt circuitry Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, level controls, AC/DC Drives etc. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. A general understanding of electrical safety principles such as lockout/tagout/tryout and NFPA70E etc.
Preferred Skills: Reading - read maintenance manuals, work orders, PM schedules etc. Read nameplate information to identify power disconnects, breakers, valves, etc. Math - calculation of amperage, wattage, resistance, volt amps etc., calculation of calibration setups, measurement of materials. Writing - complete work orders, PM worksheets, machine operation reports, and daily work reports. Enter comments and generate work orders electronically using the SAP/Prometheus CMMS system. Interpretation of schematics and one-line diagrams. Operation and interpretation of data recorders. Communication Skills - receiving and giving job instructions, training new electricians, participating in team problem solving groups (Kaizen Events). Operation of shop equipment. Welding, soldering Operation of electrical measurement devices - Multimeter, amp meter etc.

Equipment Operated: PLC, PC, battery hydrometer, multimeter, amp meter, hydraulic jacks, soldering iron, acetylene torch, SGV, forklifts, drill press, band saw, hydraulic press, lathe, scissors lift, company vehicles, tractor, conduit bender, cable puller, core drill, ramset, and plant production equipment while making repairs or troubleshooting, etc.
Data Used: Motor nameplate information, maintenance manuals, schematics, readouts from various meters, work schedule, work orders, reports, etc.
Materials Used: Knives, feeler gauges, micrometer, tape measure~ hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) power tools (drill, grinder, saw etc.), pipe threader, welder, meters, oscilloscope etc.
Interactions with Others: All as needed. Education/Experience:
Education:
Completion of an accredited (8000 HR) apprentice program, technical school program, college degree in the electrical field, or minimum 4 or more years of experience as an industrial/manufacturing/commercial electrician.
Continuing Education:
All classifications of Electricians will be required to attend, participate and complete continuing education, including seminars & training sessions both in and out of the plant as directed and planned by their Shift Crew leader or Maintenance Supervisor.
Work Environment/Time Worked:
Work Environment: Activities occur inside and outside of Plant 4, Plant 5, Plant 6, CCW/Shiffer Building, Shiffer Annex, Administration Building and Technical Center, Training & Education Center and Research & Innovation Building.
Job conditions include but are not limited to exposure to the following:
Potential for temperatures exceeding 120°F when working near ceiling, in curing vessels or process tanks, or in boiler rooms. Work in high places (20' ceilings, 80' to top storage silos). Potential for temperatures below 32 degrees F when working outside during the winter. Fumes from cleaning solutions. Fumes from manufacturing processes. Airborne dust. Use of chemicals, contact cleaners, spray solvent, RTV, carbon black, etc. Hydraulic and lubricating oils. 66KV supply to electric yard. Moving mechanical parts including conveyors, production machinery, shop equipment and possible pinch points. Confined spaces including tanks, curing vessels, under equipment, mixer bodies etc. Heavy equipment operation including forklift, hoist, bridge crane, tractor, etc. Hearing protection is required in specified areas of plants. Respirators are required in specified areas of plants. Complete projects within a deadline and promptly respond to equipment breakdowns. Exposure to the chemicals used to manufacture our adhesive products. These included but are not limited to toluene, heptane, xylene, oxsol, MEK, 90 Solvent, tert butyl acetate, VMP naptha, acetone, etc. Working in Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 and Class 2 Division 2 hazardous environments. Exposure to chemicals used in the CCW manufacturing process.
