Do you know your way around a wrench, a wire, and a welding mask? If you’ve got skills in **carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, or just love fixing things right** , we want to meet you! We're looking for a **hands-on, all-around problem solver** who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into a little bit of everything. You'll work side-by-side with skilled tradespeople and be the backbone of keeping our facility running smoothly—from ceiling fans to smoke eaters, from vacuum pumps to kitchen equipment. Every day is a little different, and that’s what makes it awesome. **What You’ll Be Doing (AKA Your Daily Adventures):** + Tag-team projects with skilled trades like electricians, carpenters, painters, and engineers. + Tackle repairs and maintenance on HVAC systems, gas/water lines, kitchen gear, and more. + Swap belts, lube machines, and keep things running like a well-oiled…well, machine. + Handle basic welding and pitch in on safety and accident prevention. + Work from sketches, get your hands dirty, and bring things back to life with tools of the trade. + Keep vehicles, compressors, softeners, and fans humming with some TLC. **What You Bring to the Table:** + High school diploma (or equivalent) + 2 years experience in more than one building trade. + Solid knowledge of tools, techniques, and materials used in general repair work. + Basic skills across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.). + Good instincts for safety and spotting hazards before they become headaches. + You can read a sketch or blueprint like a treasure map—and follow it too! + Valid driver’s license (if driving’s part of the gig), plus a clean record to match. + Able to lift up to 100 pounds (yes, seriously), and handle ladders, scaffolds, and tight spaces. + Comfortable using hand and power tools like a pro. + Must be able to wear a half-mask respirator (safety first, always!). **Physical Life of the Job:** Expect to be on your feet, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, and fixing—this is a job for people who like to move, think on their feet, and get things done right the first time. If you’re the kind of person who likes variety, loves fixing stuff, and wants to make a real difference every day—you’ll fit right in. **Working at University Health is about making a difference.
