Maintenance Engineer
Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

• Assists operations and maintenance on day-to-day equipment malfunction troubleshooting by providing technical expertise and delivering engineered solutions.

• Manages smaller capital projects by providing technical expertise, managing costs/budgets, and delivering startup support within the accepted project schedule.

• Applies a tactical (hands-on) approach to repair, replace, or redesign equipment after it begins failing on the P-F curve.

• Displays ownership of equipment reliability within an assigned plant area/unit.

• Ensures long-term performance, considering safety, environmental, and operational success.

• Conducts cost analysis weighing the pros/cons of various options and their impact on plant operations.

• Participates in the development of design and installation specifications, along with commissioning plans, for new equipment.

• Develops criteria for and evaluates equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.

• Leads continuous improvements for Refining Department Safety, Quality, and Throughput from routine analysis.

• Organizes and manages multiple projects & tasks to ensure high-quality and timely service to all internal and external customers.

• Assists in establishing and maintaining Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics and standards. Maintains data used in creating and updating KPI reports.

• Provides training on new equipment installations.

• Ensures documentation (drawings, procedures, reference files, etc.) are updated based on equipment modifications or replacements.

• Plans and performs engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex projects using general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reducing downtime.

This is a fully on-site position in Tampa, Florida.

Work Environment

Fully onsite. Report to Sam - Maintenance Engineer Manager. Team: 2 Engineers, 40 technicians.
