NBC Connecticut is looking for an Engineer to Support the local stations by maintaining electronic and digital equipment to support News production and other on-air broadcast and streaming requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities.

Troubleshoot complex ENG systems, SDI video routers, microwave systems, ENG Vehicles, Cellular Bonded News Gathering systems as well as other broadcast & production systemsStrong understanding of Newsroom Control systems and automation workflows Read schematic diagrams and troubleshoot analog and digital equipment to the component level.Troubleshoot and respond in a timely fashion to maintenance needs

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

Minimum 3 years’ experience in broadcast maintenance engineering Minimum 3 years’ experience with digital microwave transmission systems, fixed and portable as well as digital encoder systemsWorking knowledge ENG and Satellite transmission maintenance and repair Knowledge and experience in studio switching systems, automation control, graphics systems and audio systems in News, production, and on-air environmentsWorking knowledge of analog and digital IFB and PL communication systems

The successful candidate will be required to join IBEW if not already a member and remain a member of the union in good standing. Must be willing to work overtime, evenings, and on weekends with short notice, and respond to emergency calls.Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must have the ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 30 pounds, carrying up to 25 pounds for up to half mile at a timeMust have a valid driver’s licenseMust have a valid CDL or the ability to obtain one 

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
