We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The Maintenance Mechanic performs skilled work on building systems throughout the hospital. As a member of the Facilities Management team, you will have important contact with patients, visitors and clinical staff every day. Your mechanical aptitude and knowledge of facility and plant operations are an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. What you will do in this role: + You will perform routine maintenance and light repairs in areas including plumbing, medical gas, doors and hardware, electrical, nurse call and HVAC systems. + You will operate building automation systems. + You will ensure the operation of fixed plant equipment by performing daily building and equipment checks and recording status of equipment. + You will respond to building system casualties and fire alarms and take immediate action to restore services. + You will install and/or change out appliances and wall hangings. + You are responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems. + You will assist in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory. What qualifications you will need: + High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical school course in related field preferred. + CFC Certification preferred. Class "A" Operating Engineers License **highly preferred** . + Requires current driver’s license and maintain satisfactory MVR to drive company vehicle. + Annually satisfactorily complete driver/safety training. + Security Certificate of Registration. + A minimum of three years experience, preferably in a health care environment. + General hand and power tools and test equipment. + Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and testing and metering equipment required. + Good communication and prioritization skills.
