Responsibilities Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.Perform inspections and routine maintenance on building systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning plumbing and electrical, hydraulic, etc.), including replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits. Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate how electrical equipment is working, building, or calibrating instrumentation.Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations).Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems. Set up electrical exhibits.Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems, safety, and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.).Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.Maintain all electrical equipment throughout the property.Provide technical assistance to other engineers as necessary.Receive direction from engineering management on daily assignments or projects and complete within the time and manner specified or in accordance with hotel needs.Receive direction for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.Understand and be able to receive and update work requests from the work request system (Synergy).Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily or as a project.Have a thorough understanding of Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.Have a thorough understanding of the importance of Lock out Tag out, the dangers of arc flashes and other precautions that need to be taken around equipment.Maintain all equipment according to equipment preventive maintenance program.Make all repairs according to manufacture specifications.Understand how to detect trends that indicate developing issues.Clean all work areas after completing a job.Uphold all Omni Associate policies regarding standards of appearance and having a neat, professional appearance. QualificationsQualifications:
Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician. Valid license to practice profession.Minimum five years’ experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems. HVAC professional certification is preferred.Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating).A willingness to always abide by health & safety practices and regulations.Ability to assist all guests with a friendly and outgoing demeanor.Ability to prioritize and self-manage assigned work.Demonstrate understanding of budgeting and performance management.Excellent communication skills. Must be able to fully understand, read and write in the English language.Required to work various shifts as project and resort needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to properly prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and components and work independently in areas where there is a high concentration of specific types of equipment.
