Position Overview

The Maintenance/Facility Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of multi-shift maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility, grounds, and to perform project related work to help maintain or improve the organization. The position requires an individual who enjoys the challenge of troubleshooting and correcting mechanical and electrical issues and someone who is willing to work when and where needed, including nights and weekends when required.

The Leader manages hourly technicians, tracks performance of techs and projects, and report status on expense and capital budgets within their responsibility. The Leader is responsible project work and may be required to perform maintenance duties as required.

Essential Functions:

Works with maintenance employees and other facility staff to develop effective, proactive team to achieve established targets and goals.Assists with preparation of maintenance operating budgets in accordance with plant objectives, assists with preparation of re-forecasts as required and works with maintenance and project teams to meet budget.Evaluates energy expenditures and proposes alternatives that reduce overall cost and minimize impacts upon the natural environment; Ensures the design and maintenance of the facility is focused on conservation in a range of areas minimizing the environmental impact where possible.Established and drives a dynamic Preventative/Predictive Maintenance program to minimize downtime, ensure timely repair, maintenance, and renovations of the facility and its equipment; Maintains systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventative maintenance work performed, compliance with Hazard Communications program requirements, compliance with safety requirements, supplies and parts inventories, purchases, utilities, and assigned projects.Leads the maintenance staff in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems as well as upkeep of machinery needed to operate and maintain the facility.Supervises, assigns, and inspects work for the facility and project work of maintenance employees, project workers, and outside contractors.Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used while coordinating the labor necessary to successfully complete assigned tasks.Solicits bids for outside contract work and schedules and supervises outside contractors.Coordinates major equipment maintenance tasks and responds to service requests, installs, inspects, repairs, and communicates results.Initiates, manages, and follows up on assigned capital projects, working closely with vendors, contractors, insurance and risk carriers, as well as Federal, State and Local agencies for compliance.Ensures adherence to company safety standards, policies and procedures. Ensures maintenance staff correctly wears and uses safety equipment as required. Ensures all safety inspections are completed and adheres to company key control policies.Works with EH&S manager to conduct regular on-site safety meetings and ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and Local safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, Workers’ Compensation, and Hazard Communications. Ensures all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled.Performs related assignments as required.

Required Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility management role, including the ability to manage a varied and complex workload. Previous experience supervising employees, including director work, evaluating performance and coaching for improvement.Associate’s degree or equivalent level of work experience will be considered with a willingness to pursue advanced learning required.Technical training in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other related fields. Formal training may be considered as substitution for experience requirements.  Advance computer knowledge, including Mechanical Drawing, PLC’s, NC equipment, and other applications.Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills, as well as experience communicating with technical and cross-functional teams.Must have a proven track record of being able to influence and coordinate personnel and resources not within their immediate control.Ability to direct, meet, and interface tactfully and courteously with fellow employees, departments, and vendors/contracts is essential for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field highly preferred.Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience is a plus.Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is a plus.Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.

Working Conditions:

Shop floor working environment. Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Must be able to work extra hours required to assume timely completion of critical projects.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $82,600 to $133.000, annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
