The Plant Utility Systems Technician is a position for a self-driven/self-motivated individual capable of working proficiently, both independently and as part of a team, without direct supervision. The successful individual must have a passion for safety and be able to foster effective working relationships built upon trust and respect within all levels of the organization. The candidate must possess experience in both contract and project management for Utility and Facility operations.
The Plant Utility Systems Technician must have:
Experience with Boiler Systems. A thorough understanding of boiler operation and maintenance, feed water treatment, combustion, and controls common to boiler operations.
Experience with Ammonia Compressor Systems. A thorough understanding of Ammonia Compressor operation and maintenance and controls is required.
Experience with Air Compressor Systems is required. A thorough understanding of Air Compressor operation, maintenance and controls is required.
Experience with Cooling Towers is required. A thorough understanding of Cooling Tower operation and maintenance and controls is required
Experience with HVAC is required. A thorough understanding of HVAC operation and maintenance and controls is required
Utilize the continuous improvement mindset and tools to actively participate in identifying and correcting opportunities, improving Plant Utility Systems in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, the creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in continuous improvement methodology events.
Follow, Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S methodology to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area, maintaining audit ready status at all time.
Able to work overtime when required.
Able to perform occasional general building repair and upkeep.
Education & Experience: prefer college degree, but not required with demonstrable expertise through experience.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
