Job Description

Location: Hybrid (On the road & remote)

Hours: M-F 9AM - 5PM

Primary Responsibilities: The Field Manager is primarily responsible for supervising the operations of a single-family rental home in-house Technician maintenance department to ensure maintenance requests are completed in accordance with company policies while maintaining a superior resident experience.

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent verbal, written, and executive presentation skillsEffective communication skills in interacting with residents, technicians, and management, with strong customer service orientationHigh mechanical competency – Need to understand houses, how their systems work and how to address the most frequent repair requestsFamiliarities with applicable building codes, ordinances and State and local regulations and have knowledge in the proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and suppliesEquivalent of a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of a related background with demonstrated advancement of responsibilities and proven experience in leadership rolesUnderstanding of the residential property management industry and an ability to identify opportunities and implement processes to improve efficiency, service, and expense controlExcellent knowledge of tools of the trades, materials, best inventory management processes, and cost-effective solutions in maintaining single family residential homesStrong PC skills and the ability to manage, coordinate, and communicate via a digital platform with a focus on operating metrics

Essential Job Functions:

Actively monitoring and managing market maintenance operational metrics to ensure Technician performance, resident satisfaction and property maintenance needs are effectively balancedWorking closely with office team members to develop an effective, proactive strategy which works together to achieve objectivesMonitor key operational and productivity metrics to ensure Technicians are completing target work volume on timeRoutinely conducting field visits to resolve complicated resident service issues and acting as a technical expert to guide maintenance technicians as neededThis position requires an individual who is an exceptionally strong leader to organize and orchestrate high work volume through effective communication and delegation to a large and growing facilities teamThis position plays a critical role in portfolio-wide facilities and maintenance strategies, driving operational changes that improve efficiency, accountability, and expense reductionParticipate in the analysis of business division metrics, providing recommendations for process improvements or changes as necessary, and implementing via focus on documentation, training, and complianceRecruiting, hiring, and training all maintenance technicians to ensure that company standards for quality of work, conduct and customer experience are not only met, but are exceededMust be able to travel 60% of the time

Physical Requirements

Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. You must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.

Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.
