We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join Cargill's Canola Crush Facility in Footscray.

As part of a small and autonomous team, you will be responsible for maintaining optimum asset health for plant equipment, systems and structures. Providing a diverse work environment, you will work independently on individual assignments and support on larger cross team projects, with the opportunity to learn and support across all plant areas.

Within a supportive team environment, you will work collaboratively and communicate with various teams across the plant and play an important role in safety and addressing near miss/incident conditions.

Key AccountabilitiesOperate and maintenance the seed processing facility in a safe, efficient and result oriented manner.Adhere to all necessary housekeeping practices required to maintain the facility's hygienic condition.Perform minor maintenance repair and/or project based work whilst on site in order to ensure peak operational performance of the production facility.Adheres to work and safety instruction by taking an active role in contributing to building a safety culture.Clearly demonstrates the ability to find and implement solutions that reduce the footprint of self and the workgroup on the environment.Ensures compliance with Cargill's Safety and Environmental policy.Contribute to the development of a food safety culture.Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.QualificationsExperience in industrial chemical handling and manufacturing process experience would be highly desiredBasic computer literacyPossession of a recognized metal trade will be a distinct advantageHold forklift and elevated work platform Operator certificate of competency or obtain one within 3 months of the appointmentExcellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently, be self-motivated and proactiveAbility to prioritize tasks, use knowledge and initiative to problem solve promptly
